John D. "Rusty" Meador |

President and Chief Executive Officer
John D. "Rusty" Meador is President and Chief Executive
Officer of Gulf Publishing Company. He joined the company
in 1987 as Mid-continent District Manager of advertising
sales. Under previous ownership, he served as Vice President,
Vice Chairman and Director. He has 33 years of publishing
and oil/gas industry experience. Meador has been a petroleum
landman and vice-president of operations for an independent
oil company. He is a member of NOMADS, the Business Marketing
Association, American Association of Drilling Engineers and
is a Certified Business Communicator. He currently serves
as Secretary of the National Ocean Industries Association.
He is a graduate of Southern Methodist University.

Ron Higgins |

Vice President Sales/ Publisher
Ron Higgins is Vice President Sales/ Associate Publisher of World Oil. He has been in the oil and gas publishing industry for over 35 years. Prior to joining Gulf Publishing Company, Ron worked for PennWell Publishing Company for 34 years, covering most of the United States and Canada for advertising sales in
Oil & Gas Journal and Offshore. Most recently, Ron represented the
Journal of Petroleum Technology. He is a graduate of the University of Houston and is also a member of NOMADS.

Perry A. Fischer |

Editor
Perry A. Fischer is Editor for World Oil. He is primarily responsible for placing exploration and
exploitation articles in World Oil. Fischer also writes the "Editorial Comment" and "What’s New in
Exploration" columns. He joined the World Oil staff in 1998. Fischer holds a BS degree in physics with
minor coursework in geology from the University of Florida, Gainesville. His industry experience includes
working as a wireline field engineer with Schlumberger Offshore Services and in offshore production with
Production Management Corp. He is a member of SPE, SEG and NOMADS.

Victor A. Schmidt |

Drilling Engineering Editor
Victor A. Schmidt is Drilling Engineering Editor of World Oil. He earned a BS in Geology from the University of Florida in 1974 and began his oil
industry career with Getty Oil the following year. He has worked as a geologist and geophysical interpreter with other oil companies and consulted with several smaller firms.
In 1991, he completed an MBA from the University of Houston and joined Offshore Data Services as a research associate tracking multiple segments of the offshore oil and gas
industry. In 1997, he joined Offshore magazine as international editor and later served as exploration editor, tracking technologies and techniques of the upstream
business. He joined World Oil in 2005.

Michael Cohen |

Production Engineering Editor
David Michael Cohen joined the staff of World Oil in
January 2007. In his new position as Production Engineering
Editor, he will be responsible primarily for placing and
editing production engineering, as well as other technical
articles in World Oil. Cohen holds a BS degree
in print journalism from Texas State University-San Marcos,
with coursework in mechanical engineering. His experience
includes reporting assignments in the Texas capital bureau
of the San Antonio Express-News and reporting and
copy editing assignments at the Fort Worth Star-Telegram.

Krista
H. Kuhl |

Technical Editor
Krista H. Kuhl joined the staff of World Oil in July 2007.
In her position as Technical Editor, she maintains the monthly “Industry
at a Glance” section, coordinates statistical content
used to support the annual and mid-year drilling forecasts,
organizes data for targeted supplements throughout the year,
and places and edits technical articles in World Oil. Krista
earned a BA degree in English from the University of Houston,
with coursework in chemical engineering.

Henry Terrell |

Contributing News Editor
Henry D. Terrell is Contributing News Editor for World Oil. He is responsible for producing
electronic reprints and special supplements for the magazine and its sister publication Hydrocarbon
Processing. In addition, he coordinates and writes the monthly Products, People, Literature and
Meetings pages. He joined World Oil's parent company Gulf Publishing in 1981, and worked in various
positions in editorial and production, and was named Production Director in 1994, a position he held
until 2001. He holds a BA degree in english from the University of Texas.
